Each wood chip is carefully tinted with varying shades of translucent oil paint to create a serene and powerful portrait that emerges from the chaos of wood chips. The process of painting on this medium is such that there is no room for error. Once the oil paint has stained the wood it cannot be removed or layered over, therefore each stroke is very deliberate.
